these parrots, frequently referred to as 'parish parrots' are conures. But how they got here to proper in such numbers is anyone's(everyones') guess.
Look for Mark Bitner(I bleev that's his name) of whom was made a documentary about his care of the parrots of San Francisco. He and the documentarian wed before she finished cutting the film. An altogether lovely story.
